I Tried Apps That Share Ad Revenue – Here’s My Honest Experience

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been exploring different apps that actually pay users a small share of their advertising or task revenue. It’s something many people overlook. Yes, there are legitimate ways to earn a few extra rands just by completing small online tasks or even playing simple games.

Ad revenue is the main source of income for many online platforms. When companies advertise through apps or websites, they pay the platform for displaying those ads. That money is called advertising revenue (or ad revenue for short). Some platforms keep all of it, but others like Clickworker and certain reward apps share a small portion of that income with the users who help make their systems work, whether by engaging with content, testing apps, or completing online tasks.

One of the platforms I’ve been using is Clickworker. It’s a global tasking platform that connects users with short online jobs like surveys, product categorization, content checking, and sometimes even mini-games testing. What I liked most was that the games I played through Clickworker weren’t just for fun, I actually got paid for them!

I was pleasantly surprised when I received my first payment directly into my bank account via their payment system, eWallet (Now Wallet). The process of verifying my account was smooth, although reviews on the internet mention how frustrating it is, on my side the payment reflected without any issues.

Of course, the amounts aren’t huge. These are small tasks that pay small amounts, but they add up over time. And the more specialized tasks you take on, the better the pay gets. For instance, Clickworker has a section called UHRS (Universal Human Relevance System), where you can access higher paying jobs related to data labeling, search engine evaluation, and AI training. That’s where the real potential lies.

Apps like these show that while you might not get rich overnight, you can earn legitimate side income with just your smartphone and a bit of consistency. It’s also a great way to understand how digital platforms earn and share ad revenue fairly among contributors.

If you’re someone who spends a lot of time online and wants to make a bit of extra cash, I’d say give Clickworker and similar apps a try. Just remember to stay realistic with your expectations.
